Our Mission

The Friends of the San Francisco Film Commission is dedicated to preserving and growing the film industry in San Francisco. We financially support the San Francisco Film Commission in their efforts to attract and promote film, television, and new media production. We also work to supply needed incentives, defray costs, and help establish production facilities in order to remain competitive with other cities and states. Film production is a proven way to boost the local economy. A wide array of resources are required. Employing film crews, actors, lodging, catering, construction materials, vehicles, equipment rentals, hardware supplies, dry cleaning, police officers, firemen, etc. are all needed and therefore locally sourced and supplied.

News

"Ask any director where you can shoot the most beautiful cityscape with a rolling fog and they will tell you San Francisco. But Karl the Fog is not the only thing that brings productions to the city. Its beautiful Victorian homes, steep streets and rich history make San Francisco the lead character in every film. Here’s seven recent flicks about San Francisco that were filmed in the city as well."
